LUCKNOW, Aug. 12 -- Reacting sharply to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's statement over Fatehpur incident where members of Hindu right-wing outfits allegedly vandalised a mausoleum claiming it was originally a temple, deputy CM Brajesh Pathak on Monday said both the SP and the Congress followed 'divide and rule' policy Terming Yadav's statement misleading and divisive, Pathak said the two parties kept dividing the country and the state in the name of religion, caste, region and language for decades. He said the SP chief was only trying to take political mileage through his statements. The deputy CM said that BJP never indulged in the politics that spread hatred. He said the ruling party was implementing public welfare policies. He said the SP was not able to tolerate the fact that there had been no riots in the state in the past eight-and-half-years.
