Sonbhadra to be developed as religious, tourism circuit
LUCKNOW, Aug. 8 -- Sonbhadra will be developed as a religious, tourism and camping circuit. This will not only create employment at the local level but also promote tourism. A decision to this effect was taken at a joint review meeting of the social welfare and forest departments was held at Bhagidari Bhawan in Lucknow on Thursday.
Cases of forest rights certificates in Sonbhadra, Chandauli and Mirzapur districts were also discussed at the review meeting. Social welfare minister Asim Arun, forest minister Arun Kumar Saxena and minister of state for social welfare Sanjeev Kumar Gond were present in the meeting.
Minister Asim Arun said a joint team of the director, tribal department, and the principal chief conservator of forests will go to the spot to check the uniformity in the cases of forest rights certificates in Sonbhadra, Chandauli and Mirzapur districts. The team will stay there and check papers.
Under this, forest land can be used with some conditions. There will be a discussion on such use of forest area which increases forest cover, forest use and also augment the income of local people. An online event will be organised in this regard in which successful experiments of other states will be included....
