Sonbhadra Police rescue man lying on rly track in Shaktinagar
VARANASI, Dec. 30 -- Police on Monday rescued a person who was lying on a railway track in the Shakti Nagar area of Sonbhadra on Saturday.
A police officer said that around 1:55 pm, the Shaktinagar police station received an urgent Dial-112 alert that Santosh Keshari, a 42-year-old resident of Khadia under the Shaktinagar police station limits in Sonbhadra district, was lying on the railway tracks near Khadia with the alleged intent to commit suicide.
Upon receiving the information, the Shaktinagar police reached the spot with the Dial-112 police team, stopped the approaching train from a distance, and safely removed the man from the railway tracks.
The man was safely taken to the police station, and his family members were called.
The police counselled him and later handed him over to his family.
Station house officer of Shaktinagar, Kamal Nayan Dubey, said the swift and courageous action of the police saved his life....
