Somnath, Kashi symbolise Sanatan culture's unity: Guv
VARANASI, May 12 -- : Governor Anandiben Patel on Monday said Somnath, situated on the western coast, and Kashi, the spiritual capital of the east, radiate the light of India's eternal consciousness together as a symbol of the magnificent spiritual unity of Sanatan culture.
The governor made the remark while addressing a gathering during the Somnath Sankalp Mahotsav at Kashi Vishwanath temple as part of the Somnath Swabhiman Parv. Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple on the occasion.
Addressing the people, she said the "Somnath Swabhiman Parv" (Somnath Self-Respect Festival) serves as a reminder of the divine Somnath temple's unwavering journey spanning a thousand years-a journey in which, despite numerous invasions, conflicts, and adverse circumstances, it steadfastly preserved its faith, energy, and existence.
She added that Somnath stands as a beacon of the nation's self-respect; and today, continuing that very saga of glory, this jyotirlinga programme is being organised on the sacred soil of the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
She said the light of "dharma" is never extinguished, the sun of truth never sets."
"This temple teaches us that the era of destruction is fleeting, whereas creation is eternal. The swords of invaders vanish into the abyss of time, yet the consciousness of culture remains everlasting," she said....
