Lucknow, Sept. 9 -- The police on Sunday busted a solver gang during the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission's (UPSSSC) Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2025 with the arrest of three men, including a government doctor. The racket surfaced at Government Girls Inter College, Jiyamau, when the control room alerted the centre about an impersonator. Police caught Ravish Kumar of Sheikhpura, Bihar, attempting the exam in place of candidate Sumit Yadav, using a forged Aadhaar and admit card. Ravish later named his associates, leading to the arrest of Vikas Kumar of Jamui, Bihar, and Dr Amit Gupta, a medical officer posted at CHC Bansdih, Ballia. Police said Gupta led the gang, charging aspirants Rs.50,000 per deal - half of which went to solvers like Ravish or Vikas. Forged IDs, fake admit cards, mobile phones and incriminating transactions were recovered. Police said the gang targeted unemployed youths desperate to clear competitive exams. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Uttar Pradesh Public Examinations Ordinance, 2024, at Gautampalli police station.
