VARANASI, July 17 -- The secretary of the culture department, government of India, Vivek Agarwal, highlighted the need to build a sufficient number of smart transfer stations for effective waste disposal during a review meeting held on Tuesday in the divisional commissioner's auditorium. The meeting focused on the solid waste management work being carried out by Varanasi Nagar Nigam and Indore Municipal Corporation. During the session, Agarwal suggested that both civic bodies should sign a MoU to improve their efforts. Varanasi municipal commissioner Akshat Verma presented initiatives like door-to-door waste collection, QR code tracking, and the Smart Kashi App. Indore DM Ashish Singh highlighted the city's sustained cleanliness drive since 2016.A team from Varanasi was advised to visit Indore within a week to study its waste management model.Later,dignitaries were honoured with an Angavastram and memento by Mayor Ashok Kumar Tiwari and Akshat Verma.htc...
