LUCKNOW, May 16 -- On a day when at least five people, including two women and two children, died after a Delhi-bound private sleeper bus caught fire in the wee hours of Thursday, multiple accidents claimed another 13 lives and left 16 people injured. Eleven people, including two women and a minor boy, died and 11 others were injured in two separate road accidents that took place in Hardoi and Balrampur districts on Thursday, senior police officials confirmed. They said six people were killed and three injured in a head-on collision of an auto rickshaw and a dumper in Hardoi on Thursday morning. In the other incident, five people were killed and eight others were injured when a car ferrying 13 people rammed into a truck from behind in Balrampur, in the wee hours of Thursday. On Faizabad Road, one person died and another was critically injured after a head-on collision between two trucks, which caught fire early on Thursday morning near Semra Crossing, police said. Meanwhile, a woman died and four others were injured in a road accident that occurred early on Thursday, in the Gosainganj police station area. The incident took place near the Sarita Petrol Pump in Gangaganj, when a car overturned.
