Six killed in separate road accidents in UP
Kanpur/Ayodhya, Dec. 12 -- Six people, including schoolchildren and pilgrims, lost their lives in two separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, while some others sustained injuries. In Farrukhabad, three people, including two sisters, were killed when a DCM truck rammed a motorcycle on the Dhirpur-Naviganj road on Thursday. Rajan, 20, was taking his cousins Shrejal ,13, and Kajal ,16, to school in Nagla Pancham when the truck hit their bike near Dhirpur village. The collision was so severe that the motorcycle got trapped under the truck and was dragged for about 25 metres.
Rajan and Kajal died on the spot, while Shrejal succumbed to her injuries at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Farrukhabad. The truck driver fled after abandoning the vehicle. Local residents blocked the road in protest, demanding strict action and stronger traffic enforcement. Police said an FIR is being lodged and efforts are on to trace the absconding driver.
In Ayodhya, three devotees on their way to the temple town were killed and eight others sustained injuries when a Bolero carrying pilgrims collided with a tractor-trolley on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway near Kalyan Bhadarsa village.
The accident took place around 5 am when the driver of the Bolero, carrying 11 passengers from Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district, dozed off and veered into the opposite lane, hitting the trolley head-on.
The impact threw eight passengers out of the vehicle, while three who remained trapped inside died on the spot. The injured were taken to the Community Health Centre and later referred to the district hospital....
