MEERUT, July 27 -- Two road accidents in Saharanpur claimed the lives of six people and left more than a dozen others injured early on Saturday, police said. In the first mishap, the crash occurred near Khera Afghan area under Saharanpur's Nakur police station when a speeding car collided with a stationary tractor-trolley loaded with fertiliser and parked on the roadside. The impact left six passengers in the car seriously injured. Three of them identified as Harvinder, Prithvi and Motiram died while being rushed to a hospital. The remaining ones were admitted to the district hospital, police said. Nakur circle officer SN Vaibhav Pandey said overspeeding and the driver's negligence led to the accident. The car was carrying residents of Haryana to Haridwar for holy dip in the Ganga, he added. In the second incident, a jeep carrying pilgrims to Haridwar crashed into a parked truck on Panchkula-Uttarakhand highway near Jagehta Nazir.
