LUCKNOW, Nov. 19 -- A day after Lakhimpur notching up the biggest win of the event, Sitapur boys scored 9-0 win over Meerut to make it to the quarterfinals of the 17th Padma Shri Pt Jaman Lal Sharma Memorial Under-14 State Hockey Tournament, at the Chandra Bhanu Gupt Khel Maidan here on Tuesday. Lakhimpur also defeated SKH ghazipur 3-2 to make it to the last eight through penalty shootout after the two teams were locked in 1-1 draw at the end of the regulation time. Jhansi, who defeated Barabanki 6-0 also stormed into the quarterfinals, whereas Bhadohi defeated kanpur 2-0 to book a slot in the quarterfinal. Sitapur Road Branch defeated Rajajipuram Branch by five wickets to lift the glittering trophy of cricket for the fifth successive time in the Neeru Memorial Annual Sports Meet Spardha - 2025, at the KD Singh 'Babu' Stadium here on Tuesday. Sitapur Road's victory was powered by bowler Ayyub, whose hat-trick broke the backbone of the opposing batting lineup, resulting in the entire team getting bowled out for just 93 runs before completing 20 overs.
