Lucknow, Sept. 9 -- Thakurganj police arrested six men from Sitapur for running a vehicle theft racket. They recovered 21 stolen two-wheelers in one of the biggest hauls in recent months. The accused were identified as Junaid (24), Aras (21), Vansh Gupta (19), Rahul Gupta (27), Salman (28), and Javed (22). A 16-year-old boy was also detained and placed under police protection. According to DCP West Vishwajeet Srivastava, the gang would travel from Sitapur to Lucknow and operate in congested areas under Chowk and Thakurganj police stations. "They mainly targeted Hussainabad and the Clock Tower stretch. After stealing motorcycles, they would drive them back to Sitapur and later sell them in Lakhimpur. Their method relied on crowded markets where vehicles were often parked unattended," added the DCP....
