Lucknow, Nov. 28 -- Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa on Thursday directed district election officers (DEOs) to expedite the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in areas where progress is slow by deploying additional skilled personnel at booths if necessary. His directive comes a week before the deadline for the distribution, collection and digitisation of enumeration forms lapses on December 4. Uttar Pradesh has digitised 7.34 crore (48%) enumeration forms till Thursday. The districts in which more than 50% digitisation work has been completed include Auraiya, Ambedkar Nagar, Chitrakoot, Barabanki, Pilibhit, Saharanpur, Amroha, Moradabad, Basti, Rampur, Chandauli, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Bareilly, Azamgarh, Firozabad and Etah. To expedite the collection of enumeration forms in urban areas, the assistance of National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme, voluntary organisations, and municipal personnel should also be taken, he said.
