SIR: Congress alleges irregularities in Vns North assembly seat
VARANASI, Feb. 7 -- A day after UP minister Ravindra Jaiswal demanded a probe claiming that 9,200 voters were listed at least at two places in the electoral rolls of Varanasi North assembly constituency released after first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Varanasi city Congress chief Raghavendra Chaubey on Friday termed it a complete failure of the government.
Chaubey said the alleged irregularities in the SIR exposed the gap between the BJP government's words and actions.
"When the BJP government is in power both at the state and the Centre, and the entire administrative machinery is under its control, the responsibility for any irregularity in the voter list lies squarely with the BJP government and its ministers," he added.
A Congress delegation led by Chaubey also submitted a memorandum in this regard to the district administration, alleging serious irregularities and biased practices in the second phase of the ongoing SIR of the voter list in Varanasi North assembly constituency....
