SI, son and nephew injured in firing in bihar
PATNA, June 9 -- A sub-inspector (SI), his son and nephew were injured after assailants fired at them at Sevati village under Dhanarua police station on Sunday. SI Manoj Kumar, posted at Saharsa, a resident of Chapra, his son Sawan Kumar and nephew Rohit Kumar, have been admitted to PMCH, police said.
Locals told police that at least 10 armed assailants suddenly came to the village and intruded in a meeting before indiscriminately firing more than 20 rounds, in which a bullet hit Manoj Kumar's leg, while his son Sawan received three bullets and Rohit received one bullet.
DSP, Masaurhi, Kahnahia Prasad said the incident occurred around 11.45 am when a mutual settlement was going on over a land dispute. "Some youths suddenly started firing in which three persons were injured. Police from various police stations have been deputed at the village."
Locals told the police that about 12 bigha land of late Siddheswar Prasad, father- in-law of Manoj, was said to be ancestral property. Some people of Tehri village had forcibly occupied the land and a mutual settlement meeting was going on ....
