SHUATS VC reaffirms founder's vision
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 18 -- Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj, celebrated its 14th Convocation ceremony on Friday, honouring its rich legacy while digitally empowering a new generation of graduates.
Held in a vibrant atmosphere, the convocation saw the conferral of 8,754 degrees to students from the academic sessions of 2023, 2024, and 2025. The degrees awarded included 453 PhDs, 3,886 Postgraduate, and 3,963 Undergraduate degrees, along with numerous diplomas.
Vice chancellor Prof Rajendra B Lal marked the occasion with congratulations to the Chancellor and all attendees. Emphasising the university's spiritual foundation, Dr Lal affirmed that "God has a plan for all," and urged the community to "love and respect one another, and build a good society." Prof Lal also traced the journey of SHUATS from a modest institute to a major university, attributing its growth to divine guidance and the enduring legacy of its founder, Dr Sam Higginbottom.
He recalled the founder's profound mission: "Serve the Land, Feed the Hungry," and highlighted his pioneering work in addressing famine and hunger in India....
