LUCKNOW, Oct. 13 -- In response to an appeal made by families of Sahara Group employees residing inside the sealed Sahara Shahar, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has permitted them to retrieve their personal belongings with the condition that they must produce proof of ownership for the same. Sahara Shahar, a 170-acre township located in Gomti Nagar in the state capital, was sealed by the civic body on October 6 over alleged violations of lease and licence agreements. Family members of Sahara Group employees have already met municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar seeking relief. "The sealing was carried out on land owned by the municipal corporation due to non-compliance with lease conditions by the Sahara Group," said an LMC official. "However, the families living inside are not being targeted. We are allowing them to retrieve their personal goods, as long as they can produce proper documents proving the items belong to them," the official added....
