PRAYAGRAJ, July 26 -- Police have arrested one Santosh Singh, the alleged henchman of a block pramukh in Pratapgarh Sushil Singh and the main accused in the recent shooting incident near sub registrar's office in Patti in Pratapgarh, in which two people accompanying the seller of a plot of land to the registration office on Monday were injured. The arrest was made from Vibhuti Khand in Lucknow. Santosh Singh, a resident of Bibipur in Patti, was the named accused in the shooting incident. SP, Pratapgarh Anil Kumar had also announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on him. SI of Nagar Kotwali police station A Yadav arrested Santosh Singh on Wednesday evening from in front of DLF building in Lucknow. He was sent to jail on Thursday. An unidentified old man died after being hit by a train on Friday morning on the western end of Bhadri railway station of Kotwali. Kotwali and GRP police reached the spot as soon as they received information and made efforts to identify the body but to no avail. Since the case was related to the railway station, GRP police took the body in their custody and sent it to Prayagraj for a post-mortem examination, said SHO, Kunda police station, AK Dixit. Police personnel of various police stations of Kaushambi district have recovered a total of 107 stolen, snatched and lost mobile phones with the help of CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal. All the mobile phones worth about Rs 25 lakh were handed over to their owners on Friday.
