SHO suspended, Rs 25,000 reward for capture of accused
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 24 -- Police commissioner Jogender Kumar has suspended Dhoomanganj police station in-charge Amarnath Rai on charges of negligence in the case of the murder of a roadways contract employee, near the petrol pump, at Mundera Toll Plaza, on Tuesday.
A reward of Rs 25,000 each has also been announced on the absconding accused. The police commissioner also issued directives for filing murder charges against those found sheltering the accused.
On Thursday, CP Jogendra Kumar held a meeting with the additional police commissioner and DCP (city), along with the in-charges of the seven teams formed to hunt the accused.
Ravindra Kumar, a resident of Neemsarai, was murdered by bricks and stones near a petrol pump at Mundera Toll Plaza under the Dhoomanganj police station area on Tuesday. Following the murder, angry family members and residents placed the body on the road, blocked the road, and vandalised property including a roadways bus.
Based on a complaint filed by Ravindra Kumar's brother, Rajan, an FIR was registered against seven named and four unidentified individuals. All the named accused are residents of Mariadih locality under the same police station.
Seven police teams were formed to arrest the accused which raided possible hideouts to nab the accused. However, not a single accused has been arrested since the murder. Following the murder, the deceased's family has accused the Dhoomanganj police station of negligence....
