Lucknow, Nov. 4 -- Several parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh may experience shallow to moderate fog at isolated places during morning hours and generally dry weather as the effects of Cyclone Montha have subsided, met officials said on Monday. With the cyclone's impact easing, maximum temperatures in the western and central parts of the state have risen by 3 to 7degC over the past 24 hours, said the officials. Day temperature in Agra rose to 33.1 degrees Celsius, in Kanpur it was recorded at 33.2, and in Jhansi 31.9 degrees Celsius. A further increase of 2 to 4degC was recorded in eastern UP on Monday. Day temperature in Varanasi (BHU) rose to 31.4 degrees and in Gorakhpur 30 degrees Celsius, after which no significant change is anticipated. The state is likely to remain mainly dry for the next week. However, the influence of a western disturbance over the western Himalayas on November 4 and 5 may bring partial cloud cover to northern UP, possibly causing a 2degC drop in minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours. Following a brief 2degC rise, temperatures may gradually fall again by 2 to 3degC. Like Monday, morning fog is very likely on Tuesday too, especially in Purvanchal and the northern Terai regions. Last month, Cyclone Montha formed in the Bay of Bengal, causing significant daily temperature fluctuations and rainfall in several locations, including Agra, Etawah, Barabanki and Jhansi. On Monday, day and night temperatures in the state capital were recorded at 29.3 and 17.8 degrees respectively. The forecast for Tuesday is clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards evening/night. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 30 and 18 degrees Celcius respectively. Weather is most likely to remain dry over the state. Top five districts with lowest minimum temperature in UP are: Muzaffarnagar 15.5 degrees, Bareilly 15.7, Najibabad 15.8, Bulandshahr 16 and Barabanki 17 degrees....
