SGPGIMS, KGMU conduct first skull base surgery training
LUCKNOW, Oct. 15 -- The department of neurosurgery at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), in partnership with the department of anatomy at King George's Medical University (KGMU), hosted the first-ever SGPGI skull base surgery course on Monday and Tuesday.
The two-day programme brought together surgeons from across the country to enhance advanced surgical skills, offering rare hands-on training in one of neurosurgery's most intricate and challenging fields.

Eminent neurosurgeons from SGPGIMS, including Dr Arun Kumar Srivastava, Dr Anant Mehrotra, Dr Kamlesh Singh Bhaisora, and Dr Ravi Shanker, guided participants through complex skull base approaches and surgical strategies for intricate tumours and vascular lesions.
The programme was curated by Dr Kuntal Kanti Das (course convenor) and Dr Ashutosh Kumar (course Co-Convenor), with support from professor Navneet Kumar, head of anatomy at KGMU, who provided cadaveric resources and anatomical guidance....
