Sex racket busted in Ayodhya guest house, 14 held
Ayodhya, Sept. 21 -- Police in Ayodhya have busted a flesh trade racket with the arrest of 14 people, including 11 women, operating in a guest house for the past 12 months, officials said on Saturday.
In the wee hours of Saturday, police raided the premises and caught 11 women. Guest house owner Ganesh Agarwal and his two associates were also arrested.
According to officials, the facility was being monitored for a few days before it was raided.
Circle officer (City) Shailendra Singh said the guest house owner, Ganesh Agrawal, had brought the women from Bihar and Gorakhpur. To avoid suspicion, he did not allow them to leave the premises. The official added more such rackets were operating in the city.
"We are finding out how these girls got involved in the flesh trade and who operates the prostitution rings. We will also identify people who pay to avail the services," said Singh.
According to the police, the illegal trade has gained momentum in the city over the last year and a half....
