Sensors to monitor street lights on highways
Prayagraj, Oct. 14 -- Street lights on national highways in Prayagraj will be monitored using special sensors with artificial intelligence (AI). These sensors will help detect when a light stops working.
Each street light will have a sensor installed. If a light breaks down at night, the sensor will send a report immediately. This report will go directly to the toll manager or the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) project director.
The system will also have a backup battery to keep the lights on for seven to eight hours during power cuts. This will help keep the highways well lit even when there is no electricity. The NHAI headquarters recently sent instructions to the Prayagraj region to install these AI-based sensors. Prayagraj's NHAI area includes 236 km of highway, with NH-19 covering up to Raja Talab and Ring Road, and NH-30 stretching about 45 km up to the UP-Madhya Pradesh border. Siddharth Kumar Singh, project director of NHAI Prayagraj, said the work to fit sensors will start soon after receiving the instructions.htc...
