LUCKNOW, June 20 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed officials to send proposals from all 75 districts by June 30, under the 18 schemes of the PWD. Chairing a high level review meeting, he directed that officials' focus should be on overall development in all 403 assembly constituencies in the state and proposals should be made in discussion with DMs, public representatives, and based upon local needs, and not political benefit. "Each assembly constituency should get the benefit of at least two or three schemes," CM told officials. Adityanath told officials to select 50 top religious places, based upon historical importance and footfall of devotees, that should be provided better road connectivity as this would also stimulate local economy. The CM said time has come to properly connect districts in southern part of UP, just as Poorvanchal, Agra, Yamuna and Bundelkhand expressways have provided better connectivity to east and west parts of state. "Over-speeding and potholes are prime cause of accidents, hence all dark spots should be identified and table top speed breakers should be made," he said.As small bridges and roads get damaged by water-logging, hence plan for such places should be made in advance so that work can start soon.
