Dehradun, Dec. 23 -- A seminar and exhibition highlighting the life, personality and achievements of former prime minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be organised by the state culture, literature and arts council on the occasion of his birth anniversary, council vice chairperson Madhu Bhatt said on Monday. Addressing mediapersons at the Media Centre in the Secretariat, Bhatt said the programme will begin on December 24 at 10 am at the Sanskruti Auditorium in Dehradun. Similar seminars will also be organised at the assembly constituency level from December 25, she added. Bhatt said the objective of the event is to acquaint the younger generation with Vajpayee's ideals, his vision of good governance and his thoughts expressed through poetry. "Literature, poems and writings related to the life of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be displayed during the exhibition," she said. Senior citizens who worked closely with Vajpayee and served under his leadership will be honoured at the event. A poets' meet and other cultural programmes will also be organised as part of the seminar, she added. The vice chairperson further said that various government departments will set up stalls at the venue to provide information about ongoing public welfare schemes.
