VARANASI, Oct. 28 -- A boat ride turned tragic in Chandauli district on Monday when three teenagers drowned after their boat capsised in the Chandraprabha river. Police said the mishap occurred near Kodochak Dawari Kala village under Baburi police station limits when one of the youths stood up to take a selfie, causing the boat to overturn. Six people were on board, including Piyush (14), Yash (16), and Arun (14), who drowned, while three others swam to safety. Chandauli DM Chandramohan Garg and SP Aditya Langeh reached the spot, while NDRF and SDRF teams launched a search operation. Arun's body was recovered, and efforts continued to find the other two.
