Security measures to continue despite LoC ceasefire agreement
Dehradun, May 12 -- Despite India and Pakistan agreeing to a ceasefire on Saturday, the Uttarakhand police said that the security measures taken by police in the state after the Operation Sindoor will remain in place for now, officers aware of the matter said on Sunday.
Inspector general of police, law and order and spokesperson for the state police, Nilesh Anand Bharne, said, "The measures taken by police will remain in place for now. It includes increasing the security at Char Dham shrines, along the routes, and vigil in border areas."
On May 7, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials concerned to increase security measures at national establishments, and for Char Dham yatra. Dhami asked officials to tighten security for the Char Dham yatra, important national establishments, dams, and power plants in Uttarakhand. He emphasised the need for robust security arrangements in all areas bordering international borders, asking officials to closely monitoring suspicious activities in these areas....
