Dehradun, Nov. 4 -- Elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been put in place in Uttarakhand for the two-day visit of President Droupadi Murmu, who arrived in the state on Monday afternoon to attend the 125th-anniversary celebrations of the Raj Bhavan, Nainital. Across Nainital and Haldwani, over 1,500 officers and personnel have been deployed and drone operations have been completely banned, with anti-drone teams activated to ensure airspace security. On her arrival at the Army helipad in Haldwani at 4.10pm, the President was received by governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh, cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat, mayor Gajraj Singh Bisht, Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat, ADG (law and order) V Murugesan, IG Kumaon Riddhim Agarwal, district magistrate Lalit Mohan Raiyal, SSP Nainital Manjunath TC, SSP Almora Devendra Pincha, and other senior officials. Following a brief reception at the helipad, the President departed for Raj Bhavan, Nainital, to participate in the commemorative celebrations marking 125 years since the establishment of the heritage building. Additional director general of police (crime and law and order) V Murugesan briefed all senior and field officers about the VVIP security arrangements, directing them to maintain maximum alertness. He stressed that officers should act promptly on threat perceptions, remain courteous with the public, and perform their duties.
