Secure command & control room, strong room: ACS
Lucknow, Feb. 14 -- Detailed instructions have been issued to up the security of the command and control room and strong room to negate any possibility of a question paper leak and to pave the way for a copying-free, smooth conduct of the UP Board examinations that begin from February 18. In the review meeting, convened on Friday, via Zoom Meet with all the divisional joint directors of education/deputy directors of education and all 75 district inspectors of schools, Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma, additional chief secretary, secondary and basic education, told officials to maintain the sanctity of the examination in the larger interest of the students who have prepared for it.
Sen Sharma directed that the command and control rooms established in subordinate districts be regularly inspected and that examination centres be visited on a random basis to ensure that adequate furniture, functional toilets, drinking water, and electricity are available according to the allocation of candidates.
The deployment of armed police forces to protect the strong rooms at examination centres must be ensured, he directed.
Mahendra Dev, director, secondary education, directed that special attention be paid to the appointment of room invigilators and the authenticity of their identity cards. Flying squads were instructed to maintain special surveillance at sensitive and highly sensitive examination centres.
Bhagwati Singh, secretary, secondary education council, gave instructions to strengthen the security arrangements of the strong room for safekeeping of question papers and answer sheets, to take necessary legal action by immediately refuting rumours spread on social media, and to safely deliver the written answer sheets to the collection centre after the examination....
