Search on for workers swept away in Pauri Garhwal
Dehradun, Aug. 8 -- Rescuers continued their search for the five missing labourers from Nepal who were swept away by a surging stream in Bankura village of Thalisain block on Wednesday, officials said on Thursday.
Police identified the missing labourers as Narendra Khadka (40), Amita Parihar (40), Vimal Vila (21), Sadhya Sadka (35), and Roman Khadka (18).
District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), Pauri Garhwal, Dipesh Chandra Kala said, "The search for the missing labourers is still underway. But there has been no trace of them so far."
Meanwhile, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the disaster-affected areas of Pauri Garhwal on Thursday.
A release from the Pauri Garhwal police on Thursday stated that personnel from police, fire department and state disaster response force (SDRF) are engaged in the search operation.
