AGRA, Dec. 11 -- Search has been intensified for inspector Anuj Kumar, 36, who has been missing for the past three months. He was posted at the police lines in Aligarh before being suspended for "playing truant". Aligarh police have pasted posters across the district and announced a reward of Rs.50,000 for any information on his whereabouts. An FIR was registered on October 18, 2025, at Mahua Kheda police station after Kumar's mother filed a habeas corpus petition in the Allahabad High Court. Kumar has been missing since September 17. According to SP (city) Mrigank Shekhar Pathak, efforts are underway to trace inspector Anuj Kumar, who had been posted at the police lines and was under suspension for "constantly remaining absent". "The matter is being investigated by Hathras DSP Gyanendra Asthana to avoid any conflict of interest. We are in touch with his family members," Pathak said. It is alleged that Kumar was picked up by personnel from Mahua Kheda police station following an altercation on the night of September 17. While his family suspects foul play, Aligarh police have denied the allegation. A 2012-batch officer, Kumar last lived in Prabhat Nagar Colony, Dhanipur Mandi, within Mahua Kheda police station limits. htc...
