LUCKNOW, April 27 -- A 50-year-old man died after a car driver allegedly opened a door abruptly on a busy road reportedly to spit in Chinhat area, causing a collision with a passing scooter on Sunday afternoon, police said. The deceased, identified as Shaunak Shukla, a resident of Shakti Nagar in Indira Nagar, ran a stationery shop. He was on way to Matiyari when the incident occurred near Yadav Dhaba, officials said. According to police, Shukla was riding his scooter behind the car when driver suddenly opened the door. Shukla's head struck door, leaving him critically injured. The car driver, with the help of bystanders, rushed Shukla to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors declared him dead. Police said the driver fled the hospital after learning of the death. Shukla's brother, Pandit Indra Dev Shukla, said deceased was associated with a political party and is survived by his wife and two kids.
