VARANASI, Dec. 19 -- School timings in Varanasi have been revised following instructions from district magistrate Satyendra Kumar amid prevailing cold weather conditions. From Friday, all schools up to Class 12 will function between 10 am and 3 pm. Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Anurag Srivastava issued directions to all schools to implement the revised schedule. Similar measures have been taken in Mirzapur, where the district administration has also changed school timings. Schools in the district will now operate from 10 am to 3 pm. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Varanasi recorded a maximum temperature of 13.8 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.5 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Weather conditions have changed over the past three days, with reduced sunlight and humid winds during daytime hours. Similar conditions were reported on Wednesday as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert for the next three days.
