Prayagraj, July 11 -- Pairing orders for schools under the Uttar Pradesh basic education council in Prayagraj have been initiated as part of the state government's school rationalisation plan. Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Devbrat Singh has ordered the merger of more than a dozen government-run primary (classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (classes 6 to 8) schools. He has instructed block education officers to ensure that teaching and learning activities continue smoothly for both students and teachers at the newly designated schools. The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated a rationalisation plan to merge schools with an enrolment of fewer than 50 students with nearby educational institutions. The objective is to enhance the functionality and viability of the public education system. As part of this initiative, students from low-enrolment schools are being accommodated in nearby facilities to ensure continuity in their education. In Prayagraj city, the following mergers have been carried out: Government Primary School, Unchamandi has been merged with the Composite School, Atrasuya. Government Primary School, Police Lines with Purana Katra Composite School. Upper Primary School, Old Katra with Primary School, Purana Katra-1. Upper Primary School (Boys), New Katra with Composite School, New Katra. Primary School, Dharharia with Composite School, Adarsh Allenganj. Primary School, Gadivan Tola with Composite School, Old Lukarganj. In rural areas: Primary School, Kechuhadih (Karachhna) has been merged with Composite School, Kechuha. Primary School, Bhagahi Patel Basti with Primary School, Machhar Pasiyan. Primary School, Kechuha Dhobiyan Basti with Primary School, Machhar Purwa. In Saidabad block, Primary School, Chakbudh Bharti has been merged with Primary School, Barokhara. Upper Primary School, Kunwarpatti (Uruwa) has been merged with Primary School, Kunwarpatti. Primary School, Madra Mukundpur-1 with Primary School, Madra-2. In Baharia and Jasra blocks: Upper Primary School, Daulatpur Baharia with Upper Primary School, Baharia.
