Meerut, Dec. 3 -- Police said they were probing the death of a 13-year-old boy, who, the family claimed, suffocated to death when his school identity card's ribbon got stuck to a bathroom tap at his home in Kanker Kheda here. The victim was the son of BSF personnel Deepak Baliyan, who had just reached home when the alleged incident took place at 6pm Monday. Kanker Khera station house officer Vinay Kumar Singh said the police were alerted through a memo sent by the hospital. A team was immediately dispatched, and the child's mother was questioned. She reiterated that the incident was an accident and resulted from a slip in the bathroom. Around 9 pm, a forensic team arrived at the house and collected samples and evidence from the bathroom. Senior officials were informed about the case shortly after the forensic inspection.
