Prayagraj, Dec. 13 -- A school bus caught fire at the Bhattni-Kamal crossing in Lalganj, Pratapgarh district, on Friday morning. Police said the driver, conductor and three students who were inside the bus at the time escaped safely. The bus belonged to a private school in Matka Salon, Rae Bareli district, and was parked overnight at Kamal Chauraha. At around 7.45am, driver Abrar, from Kateha, Salon, arrived to start the morning trip. As soon as he turned the ignition, a suspected short circuit caused the fire, according to SHO Alok Kumar. Conductor Baboolal was in the bus with three students Alok (Class 9, from Lachuri), Mehak (Class 8) and Suryapratap Singh (Class 9, from Bhatni). When they noticed smoke, they immediately got out. Moments later, the bus was covered in flames. School staff informed the Salon fire brigade. Firefighters with help from villagers, managed to control the blaze, but the bus was completely damaged....
