SC extends stay in case against Rahul
India, Oct. 14 -- The Supreme Court on Monday extended the stay on criminal defamation proceedings against Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for a period of four weeks in a case relating to his 2022 comments on the Indian Army during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. A bench passed the order on a request for adjournment made by Gandhi's lawyer seeking time to file his response to an affidavit filed by the UP government. The SC had on August 4 stayed the defamation proceedings pending against Gandhi before a Lucknow court over his allegations that China "captured 2,000 sq km of Indian territory" and "thrashed our jawans in Arunachal Pradesh".P7...
