Saryu bridges, flyovers mark ring road push
Lucknow, Dec. 16 -- After ring road project in the state capital, the state government has expedited the Rs 3418 crore ring road project in Ayodhya.
Land acquisition for the 67.57 km long project has been completed and construction has begun at most sites, the district administration has said.
Vehicles are expected to be able to travel smoothly on the ring road from 2028.This project will not only improve connectivity in Ayodhya but also give a new impetus to tourism and economic development.District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde said that the land acquisition required for the project has been completed.At present construction is underway on six major bridges, two minor bridges, six flyovers, and 13 vehicular underpasses.
The 67.50-kilometre-long and 60-meter-wide ring road, being built at a cost of around Rs 3418 crore, includes the construction of seven flyovers, four railway overbridges (ROBs), 16 vehicular underpasses, 11 major bridges, and 18 minor bridges.
In addition, two grand bridges are to be constructed over the Saryu, connecting Ayodhya to Basti and Gonda.
The first underpass of the ring road is being constructed on the Ayodhya-Ambedkar Nagar highway, between the Yash Paper Mill and the link road to Sirsinda village.
The project is being executed by M/s Seagull Ayodhya Bypass Highway Private Limited. Large machinery has been deployed for the construction of the next overbridge, which will be 4200 meters long, over the Saryu, said the district administration.
The bridge construction has started from the area near the NTPC solar plant established in Rampur Halwara and will connect to Basti district across the Saryu River.
This overbridge will function as an underpass over the four-lane road under construction from Nayaghat to Dashrath Samadhi in Ayodhya.
In addition, underpass construction is gaining momentum in the villages of Katrauli, Magalsi, Mau Yaduvanshpur, and Khanpur Masaudha.
Meanwhile, embankment construction work is continuously progressing in the villages of Haripur Jalalabad, Hunsepur, Raipur Manapur, and Khargapur....
