Sankalp for democracy in UP assembly on Constitution Day
Lucknow, Nov. 27 -- A Sankalp Programme celebrating the Indian Constitution was held on Wednesday at the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Lucknow to mark Constitution Day.
Assembly speaker Satish Mahana said the Constitution guides the nation to follow democratic values, justice, equality, freedom and duty.
He urged public representatives, officials and citizens to bring the spirit of the Constitution into their daily work and behaviour.
Leader of the opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, principal secretary of the assembly Pradeep Kumar Dubey, and staff of the assembly secretariat were also present.
The event ended with a collective pledge to protect and promote the ideals of the Constitution.
Tributes were paid to the architects of the Constitution before taking the pledge to follow their principles and values faithfully....
