BETTIAH, Sept. 2 -- BJP leader and West Champaran MP Sanjay Jaiswal has served a legal notice to Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, demanding an apology within 15 days for his recent remarks, and threatening legal action if the demand is not met. The notice, dated September 1, expresses Jaiswal's "grave displeasure" and strong objection over Kishor's statement made during his visit to West Champaran on August 27. Kishor had said, "Dr Sanjay Jaiswal is a tutfujiya (ordinary) leader. Everyone knows that to ensure his petrol pump business does not decline, he delayed the flyover construction for many days. When the flyover was built, its alignment was changed so that his petrol pump keeps shining." Refuting the allegation, Jaiswal said that the petrol pump in question does not belong to him, his wife, or his children, but to a close relative from his extended family. He further asserted that the alignment of the overbridge "was not changed by an inch" to benefit anyone. "The overbridge was built exactly as designed. Therefore, your statement aimed at cheap publicity with an intention to tarnish my reputation and mislead the public at large," the notice stated. Jaiswal has demanded a public apology from Jan Suraaj founder, warning that failure to comply will compel him to pursue strong and appropriate legal action without any further delay....
