Sangam city to celebrate Surgeons Day on June 15
PRAYAGRAJ, June 14 -- The Prayagraj chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) on Friday announced that this year, for the first time, 'Surgeons Day' will be formally celebrated across the country on June 15.
To mark this historic occasion, the entire week from June 8 to 15, 2025, has been dedicated as 'Surgeons Week', announced the office bearers while addressing media persons at the Allahabad Medical Association Hall.
The press meet began on a solemn note with heartfelt condolences for the victims of the recent air crash in Ahmedabad. The surgeon fraternity paid homage to the departed souls and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. The gathering reaffirmed the community's deep commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian service.
The occasion was attended by several eminent medical professionals, including former ASI national president Dr Probal Neogi, president of Allahabad Surgeons Association Dr Sujit Singh, secretary Dr Sanjay Singh, treasurer Dr Abhinav Agrawal, and joint secretary Dr Santosh Singh, among others.
Addressing media persons on Friday, Dr Probal Neogi said, "A surgeon not only saves lives in the operation theatre but also lays the foundation for societal change. 'Surgeons Week' will serve as a reaffirmation of both our medical contributions and our ethical and social responsibilities."...
