MEERUT, Oct. 6 -- Police maintained a heavy presence for the second consecutive day on Sunday at the residence of Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ziaur Rahman Barq in Sambhal. Authorities prevented the MP's father Mamlukur Rehman Barq from traveling to Bareilly, citing administrative restrictions. When Mamlukur Rehman Barq stepped out for a drive within the city, two sub-inspectors and two constables accompanied him in his vehicle. Police teams from Nakhasa and Raisatti police stations were stationed at Barq Manzil, monitoring the premises through CCTV surveillance. As soon as he left his home, a police officer confronted Mamlukur Rehman Barq and stopped him from leaving the city. He had sought official permission to visit Bareilly, which was not granted. Speaking to reporters, he said, "I wanted to go to Bareilly to meet people, but the administration denied permission. Police even came to my house and informed me I could not go. Later, when I stepped out to meet some people in the city, officers accompanied me in my car." This comes a day after an SP delegation, including MP Ziaur Rehman Barq, had planned to visit Bareilly on Saturday....
