VARANASI, April 24 -- S Rajalingam officially took charge as the 69th divisional commissioner (DC) of Varanasi on Monday, succeeding Kaushal Raj Sharma in a formal handover ceremony held at the divisional office. The outgoing divisional commissioner, Kaushal Raj Sharma, has been appointed secretary to the chief minister. An IAS officer of the 2009 batch, Rajalingam served as the district magistrate of Varanasi from November 5 2022, until April 21, 2025.
