LUCKNOW, Oct. 16 -- The UP government is set to simplify the rules for determining circle rates, paving the way for citizens to register their property without relying on agents or middlemen. Minister of state (independent charge) for stamp and registration, Ravindra Jaiswal, on Wednesday said that the number of parameters used to fix circle rates would be reduced from around 40 to 15-20, and that a government order to this effect would be issued soon. Jaiswal said that simplification would provide major relief to the public. "With fewer parameters and an easier process, any citizen will be able to check the circle rate of their land on the department's website, fill in the required details, book a slot, and complete the registration process independently," he said. The minister said that the move would help eliminate discrepancies in circle rates and ensure a uniform and transparent real estate system across the state. It is also expected to significantly reduce stamp duty evasion, registration disputes, and related legal cases.
