Jodhpur, Sept. 3 -- The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) has ordered the closure of four projects for violating environmental laws and alleged encroaching upon the catchment area of the historic Hingonia Dam. The action, taken against Jogi Real Home Pvt Ltd, Panchsheel Buildtech Pvt Ltd, Grassfield Riviera Resort and Brijastha Construction Pvt Ltd, was reported to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) through an Action Taken Report filed on Tuesday. The Board has also directed immediate disconnection of electricity supply to the units and asked the Jaipur district administration to enforce the orders. According to the report, the action follows repeated violations of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. The case stems from a petition filed by Kamlesh Roj, highlighting illegal constructions, encroachments and conversion of land in the submergence and catchment areas of Hingonia Dam, which serves as a critical water source. The NGT had earlier constituted a joint panel to inspect the site. RSPCB noted that while most project developers failed to respond to show cause notices, Mangalam Builders had applied for Consent to Establish.
