Lucknow, June 19 -- Projects worth Rs.87.96 crore have been approved for Lucknow under the infrastructure fund for the financial year 2025-26. The approvals came at a high-level meeting held on Wednesday. As part of the approved plans, the city will see the construction of two community centres, two public parks, beautification of a major city intersection, and strengthening of 25 urban roads across various localities. A significant highlight of the approved projects is the construction of a foot overbridge near Babu Banarasi Das University on the Lucknow-Ayodhya Road. Additionally, landscaping and beautification work along a section of the Gomti Nagar Riverfront has also been given the green light. Officials said the projects aim to improve civic amenities, public spaces, and road conditions to meet the growing demands of the city's expanding population. The proposals were cleared by the infrastructure committee headed by divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob. Senior officials from the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board, Jal Nigam, Lucknow Development Authority, and the Lucknow Municipal Corporation were present during the meeting.
