Rs.1 lakh reward accused arrested in double murder case
Meerut, May 2 -- The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a Rs.1 lakh reward accused involved in the brutal murder of a father and son in Sambhal district. The accused, identified as Santosh, son of Jogendra and a resident of Rasoolpur village under Kailadevi police station, was apprehended from a construction site in Raghunath Colony, Pathankot (Punjab) on April 30.
During interrogation, Santosh confessed to committing the crime on April 2, 2026, along with his brother Arvind and associate Manoj, son of Mahavir, a resident of Badaun district. The trio had booked a pickup vehicle owned by Naresh, a resident of Bhiraoti village in Sambhal, under the pretext of hiring it to transport labourers from Meerut. However, instead of proceeding with their plan, the accused strangled Naresh and his son Bhimsen to death midway during the journey. They then dumped the bodies in a forested area under Kotwali Shamli police station limits and fled with the pickup vehicle.
