LUCKNOW, June 10 -- Fraudulent payments of Rs 9.94 crore to hospitals by misusing login IDs of senior officials of the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services (SACHIS) have surfaced, following which an FIR has been lodged at Hazratganj police station against an unidentified person. As per a complaint filed by Dr BK Srivastava, state nodal officer at SACHIS, a total 6239 payments have been passed irregularly/fraudulently, amounting to Rs 9,94,13,386, stated the police, "The IDs that have been misused include those of implementation support agency (ISA), accounts officer/manager (finance) and even the CEO of SACHIS. The period of these payments is between May 1 and 22, 2025," stated the FIR lodged by Srivastava. Payments to the hospitals were made for treatment to be provided to patients under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. After completing treatment, hospitals put up claims, which at the first step are verified by ISA, an agency hired via tender process by SACHIS. The cleared bills are then checked by medical auditor and then passed on to the accounts section for further process. Every day, SACHIS clears over 4000 bills. "When the number of bills being cleared went over the average number for several days, a query was raised with the ISA, and it was found they did not clear the said bills," stated the police complaint.
