Ayodhya, Aug. 20 -- The State GST team has uncovered a fraudulent input tax credit (ITC) claim of Rs.6.43 crore in Ayodhya. A bogus firm, registered in October 2024 under the guise of garment trade but engaged in fictitious iron business, was found non-existent during verification ordered by Additional Commissioner Santosh Kumar. Investigations revealed the operator from Allahabad used forged documents to declare fake supplies worth Rs.35.75 crore between December 2024 and March 2025, enabling large-scale fictitious transactions.
