LUCKNOW, June 28 -- As part of its ongoing initiative 'Operation Nanhe Farishte', the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northern Railway's Lucknow Division rescued two minor children in separate incidents and safely handed them over to the Child Helpline. On June 26, woman constable Sarita Yadav, posted at Barabanki railway station, spotted a 10-year-old girl sitting alone on the platform. During questioning, the girl identified herself as Alia and said she had boarded a train from Bareilly but accidentally got off at Barabanki. She also admitted to begging on trains. "On the same day at Varanasi railway station, a checking team comprising ASI Dharmendra Kumar Yadav and woman constable Priyanka Dubey spotted an 11-year-old boy sitting alone on platform no. 5. The child, identified as Gulshan, said that he had left home following a disagreement. The team promptly informed Child Line, and the boy was later handed over to counselor Vishal Singh," said Kuldeep Tiwari, senior divisional commercial manager, Northern Railway. Under this operation, the RPF continues its active efforts to identify and safeguard vulnerable, abandoned, and lost minors at railway premises....
