Robbers steal cash and jewellery worth Rs.25L from retired IAF officer's house in Prayagraj
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 15 -- Some unidentified men stole cash and gold jewellery worth approximately Rs.25 lakh from the residence of a retired Indian Air Force personnel in Chak Mundera of Dhoomanganj area.
According to the police, the criminals broke into the house by cutting a window grille. The entire act was captured on CCTV, showing three men fleeing the scene on a motorcycle with a bag, said police.
The house belongs to Usha Shukla, whose late husband worked in the Bihar Secondary Education Department. Her son, SP Shukla, a retired IAF officer, lives in Bengaluru. Usha Shukla resides alone at the property, while her two daughters, Shashi Prabha and Sunita, live nearby in Dhoomanganj.
Speaking to the media, Usha's son-in-law Arun Pandey said the theft was discovered around 1.15 am on October 12, when Usha Shukla awoke to find the doors and cupboards open, and the house ransacked. She immediately alerted her family and called the police via the Dial 112 emergency helpline.
